Today’s picture for invisible illness is a personal one. This is one of about 30 notes that my friend has received since using her handicapped placard. I’m going to say this to you, have you ever seen someone get out of a car parked in a handicapped space and said to yourself “they look too young or they don’t look disabled.” I’m going to go with yes you have, because we all have at one time. I can’t remember doing it, but before I understood the difficulties of invisible illness when I was younger I probably did. Let me ask you this though, when you had that thought was it because you knew with 100% certainty that they weren’t handicapped or did you assume that because of their age and/or not seeing a cane, walker or wheelchair? All I’m asking is that we stop and think when we someone need a mobility aid, park in a handicapped space or say they are disabled that we remember this “DISABILITY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AGE OR APPEARNACE.” #spoonie #invisibleillness #disability #chronicillness #rheumatoidarthritis #lupus #fibromyalgia #myofascialpainsyndrome

If nothing else, this post needs to be seen around the internet more. This harassment is not okay and no one should have to deal with it on top of having an invisible illness. This is just another form of anonymous bullying to add to the internet bullying these TROLLS are capable of.

you ever notice a lot of stuff is considered poor and gross unless its upper middle class (white) people doing it

food trucks in the 90s were the realm of taco trucks and fairground food and were always considered unhygienic and nasty until all these rich city kids started…

A snippet from an article on Huffington Post about what it means to be working poor.
Pretty spot on…

I got into an argument today with someone who is a landlord, and they were outraged, outraged, to find that their evicted tenants owned an Xbox 360. Never mind that the console was ten years old and worth perhaps $50 on Craigslist, they were outraged that their evicted tenants did not sell it, along with the very clothes on their back, to pay their back rent. I tried to explain to him that when you are $1800 in back rent, $50 isn’t even a dent in that debt. Why bother? Why bother selling that $50 item if it isn’t going to get you any less evicted? If it’s not going to save you, you’ll hold on to it. Money becomes meaningless when you’ll never have enough to hold onto. You just let it flow like water through your hands. It’s all gone anyways, no matter what you do. It was gone before it ever touched you.

destroy the notion that someone’s mental health is what makes them evil.

destroy the notion that mental illnesses make bad people.

destroy the notion that you can’t be an outright awful person without being mentally ill.

destroy the notion that neurotypical people can do no harm.

destroy ableism.

If you are not wholeheartedly against the police and the corrupt government of the USA and the gross racial inequality in this country

You are a direct part of the problem in this country. Your silence is a problem. Your approval is a problem. If you are not combatant, you are the problem, you are my direct enemy, and the enemy of all good in this world.

"But women get unfair advantages in custody battles"

handaxe:

FALSE. Fathers who ask for sole custody are far more likely to get it. It’s just that they don’t ask, mostly women do. Men win custody over women even if they are ostensibly unfit. More and more, judges and parents rule in favor of 50/50 custody. In fact, in the past ten years, the men’s rights movement has been devastating to women seeking custody in court and women are awarded sole custody about half as many times as men.

So find a new fucking myth.

So, for a while now I’ve been making scattered posts about how much I hate this movie, and when asked why I replied: well, it’s fuckin racist (and misogynistic as well we’ll talk about it).

Dropping my trademark lowercase typing for a more legible text here but we’re in for a wild…

hairymanhatinglesbian:

There are a couple of reasons.

1. She sat on the Walmart board for 6 years and then didn’t do anything when they waged war against the workers and their unions (X)

2. She voted in favor of the Iraq war (X)

3. She is into free trade agreements (even if she is formally against some of the policies, she still maintains that she supports the principles of them) (X)

4. She supports a border fence in Israel and wholeheartedly believes Israel deserves “safety and security” (X)

5. She supports performance based pay for public schools (X)

6. She also believes charter schools help failing public schools (X)

7. She wants to maintain US hegemony, increase the defense budget and she supports the death penalty (X)

8. She said, “I am adamantly against illegal immigrants” and supported the border wall (X)

9. She supported DOMA and thinks civil unions are good enough for “equal rights” (X) I’m not interested in marriage for us queers, but she is on the other side of the issue entirely saying that she is against marriage for same sex partners but is pro civil unions. The reason civil unions were created was to create a new way to oppress and otherize systematically.

10. She wants more police, vigil antes and harsher prison sentences (X)

I’m sure there are more. But honestly she’s very moderate and I see her being really exciting for the young dems because she’s a woman but ultimately her policies will reflect those of the old white dudes (and obama bc his policies aren’t anything to praise either) that came before her.

trash ass hillary

i know so many people that need to read this (plus the sources)

I like Hillary but yikes I did not know any of this

(**UPDATE**CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEO OF AN EYEWITNESS SPEAKING OUT ABOUT WHAT REALLY HAPPENED BEFORE IT GETS DELETED)

Mike Brown, a 17 year old high school grad set to begin his first day of college Monday was shot 10 times for reportedly stealing candy and running, while unarmed.

The neighborhood community came up in arms and began to protest against the police officers on the scene and dozens of police backup and k-9 dogs were called in.
